Friday (1/27) the rough plumbing began as they cut the holes for the piping.

Saturday I spent a couple of hours walking thru the house with the electrician to discuss the layout of different fixtures. We also discussed switch control (2-way, 3-way, dimmer, etc). After Karen finished with her hair appointment (and since Linda was feeling better) we all went over to share the progress and test out different light fixture sizes. Later Saturday night we purchased the exterior lights that will be located on the front door, garage area, and rear of the house.

Today (1/30) I met with Mike and Jose to discuss the design of the front porch. Jose, the mason, provided us some samples to review this evening.

Siding to start on Wednesday.

The remaining windows were installed including in the garage. All doors except in the garage were installed. Note that the front door will be finished with a stain to darken the wood. The rooms are really taking shaped as the Interior framing continued. Oooo... and the bathroom tub/showers were delivered and placed in their respective rooms - same style in both rooms.

The windows have been delivered and are beginning to be installed. Also the basement floor has been poured and they are starting to frame the stairwell.

The roof is almost completely shingled - probably be completed by early this week. Plus the front porch is starting to take shape.

After spending Sunday x-country skiing the week warmed up to 55+ degrees. The spring weather felt great but created quite the mud puddle at the site - sympathize with the guys working - ugh!

The roof is almost ready for shingles which arrived this week. Also installed this week is the electrical service (no meter yet, however).

About 8.5 inches fell overnight giving us a great base to x-country ski on from our yard to the rail trail. This was Kendra’s first tour of the house since the land was only trees. Linda hadn’t seen it since last week but this was the first time she went upstairs.

And the 2nd floor interior walls are up! When looking at the photos of the 2nd floor you are first in the rear guest bedroom looking towards the master closet. Then you are in the master looking at the closet and bathroom with the hallway to your left. Finally you are in the front guest bedroom looking out the window to the garage and then, inside towards the hallway and stairs to first floor.
