Our 3rd annual Solstice was a great success. The weather was beautiful; approximately 70F when we started at 4PM and only 40% humidity. As we climbed we could see distant scattered showers appearing and dissipating. We reached the summit around 6PM and paused briefly to snack and take photos. A few sprinkles of rain hit us as we descended. When we were within a half-mile of the cars (~30 mins) we started counting seconds between lighting and thunder claps. Luckily the storm traveled to our “south” and we were treated to a fantastic light show on the ride home.
Check out the photos.
